Skyforge is a free to play MMORPG set in a world where fantasy and science fiction collide, where Gods and Immortals use their divine power and technological superiority to watch over their worshippers on Aeilion from their Divine Observatory. In the game players take on the role of one such Immortal, continuously answering the cries for help from the mortals on the surface and facing off against all manner of threats including renegade Immortals and shady evil factions. With a wide variety of features the game puts its own twists on the genre and draws players into a rich and immersive world with a fantastic music soundtrack, breath-taking environments and deep and provocative story.

Whilst starting out as a faceless Immortal during the tutorial phase, players will soon be able to customise their character using a selection of facial features, body shape sliders, tattoos, jewellery, accessories and clothing to create their own unique identity. Different to other MMORPGs players can switch their class at any time when in battle, depending on the scenario a player finds themselves in where one class may be more beneficial over other, similarly being in a group that may lack a particular class, with the push of a button they are able to switch into their new Divine form with a new unique skill set.

All classes are levelled up individually by acquiring different gems and spending them to unlock abilities and skills in the Ascension Atlas, a huge network of nodes that give players both active skills and passive abilities when unlocked. With three different types of gem to collect, each node requiring a certain type of gem based on its type (defensive, skill, energy nodes) players are able to navigate the web of paths as they complete quests and other activities and gain gems as rewards. When players have unlocked the Ultimate node they gain access to an upper level of the Ascension Atlas, which gives them a much larger web to navigate, with more options, pass and allowing for more diversity with and the class for players to customise their character to their preferred style of gameplay.

PVE is central to the game and the progression of the stories narrative in the battle against the rising evils on Aelion, players can activate the holographic map at the Divine Observatory to see which mortals are currently in need of help and taking on the mission to head down to the planet. Quest locations can range from solo instances to tougher areas requiring groups and even locations that are flagged for PVP, giving a wide range of gameplay styles for players. PVP typically comes in the form of the various game modes such as Team Deathmatch , Capture the Flag and other popular PVP games focusing on solo or team based combat. Alternatively players can focus on fighting alongside their Guild in the Guild V Guild Pantheon Wars allowing for large-scale combat.
